Welcome to the Gold Coast Disabled Surfers Association web page. Established in 2004 we have an experienced committee and a dedicated core of volunteers drawn from many parts of the Gold Coast community.

Our “Lets Go Surfing” days are held at Flat Rock beach, Currumbin (off Teemangum Street) – with a great shaded spot in Len Wort Park perfect for post surf snags. Click here to find us on GoogleMaps.

All our events are held at Len Wort Park/Flat Rock Beach, Currumbin – click on this link to find us on Google Maps

Our events open from 8.30am for volunteer/participant sign-in and we usually commence surfing around 9.30am.

Events will only be cancelled if there are dangerous conditions such as wild/big surf; strong winds and/or thunder storms. In the event of a cancellation we will post notices on this site and on our Facebook page.

REGISTRATION FOR 20th FEBRUARY
Great news folks! At this stage our 20th February event is on but with a few little changes so we can aim to run a more Covid safe event and still put smiles on dials! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE FULL DETAILS IN THIS POST…
For the first time we will be requiring participants AND volunteers to pre-register to attend via EventBrite. We will also be capping participants numbers at 40 to ensure we can safely manage numbers and to also ensure we can match participant numbers to volunteer numbers.
We will be giving access to EventBrite in the following order:

VOLUNTEERS – registration is now open!
Without enough volunteers we will need to limit disabled participants or cancel the event. If you register to attend please ensure you commit to attending on the day. Volunteers are required to attend from 8.30am until the event finishes (usually around 12.30pm). If you need to leave early please notify your Team Leader at the start of the event. DON’T LEAVE US UNEXPECTEDLY SHORT-HANDED! We will require all volunteers to sign-in using the Queensland Health Check-In app on the day.

PARTICIPANTS – registrations will open in two batches:
Participants Round 1 (20 spots): registration opens 12pm, Monday 7th February.
Participants Round 2 (20 spots): registration opens 6pm, Friday 11th February.
Registrations are limited to a maximum of 4 participants per booking. You are still required to arrive at the event at 8.30am so we can organise the running order. Disabled participants MUST attend our event with a carer. We will require all volunteers, carers and families to sign-in using the Queensland Health Check-In app on the day.

We realise this is a big change from how we’ve been able to run events in the past but we trust everybody will work with us to ensure this is a fun and safe event!
